Q1: Is 08Х18Н10 exactly the same as 304 in composition?
A: Close but not identical at the tolerance limits. GOST 5632 allows slightly wider ranges on chromium and nickel
compared to ASTM A240. In practice, reputable mills target mid-range chemistry that satisfies both standards
simultaneously. We verify this on every heat and can supply the full analysis for your comparison.
Q2: What about 12Х18Н10Т — is that also 304?
A: No. 12Х18Н10Т is a titanium-stabilized grade — closer to 321 than 304. The 'Т' stands for titanium, which
prevents carbide precipitation during welding. It's common in older GOST-designed plants. If your spec calls for
12Х18Н10Т, you need 321 or 1.4541, not 08Х18Н10. We produce both — just make sure the designation is clear on your
RFQ.
Q3: Can you certify to GOST on an MTC?
