A 316 bright stainless steel bar from JILAIDA factory is the 16Cr-10Ni-2Mo grade put into a clean, reflective round form — the molybdenum pushing the pitting resistance equivalent number (PREN) about 6–8 points above 304, which is the difference between pitting in a few months and pitting in a few years. The bright surface is not cosmetic: polishing removes the micro-roughness that traps chloride ions, slows crevice corrosion, and lets the user see any surface defect during inspection. Standard stock is 154 mm diameter × 500 mm length; custom diameters 20–350 mm run on the same forging line with bright-drawing or centerless grinding to h9 tolerance.
The quality 316 bright stainless steel bar offered by leading China manufacturer JILAIDA is the default pick for marine hardware, food processing wash-down zones, chemical
pump shafts, pharmaceutical mixing shafts, and architectural trim on coastal buildings — anywhere a rougher surface
would hold contamination and 304 would pit. For welded assemblies, 316L is the same price as standard 316 in our forging
sizes and avoids sensitization at the weld zone. Inquiry turnaround is fastest when the RFQ includes diameter, length,
grade variant (316 or 316L), surface condition (bright-drawn h9, centerless ground, or as-forged), quantity, and
destination port — that is enough for Ji lai da to return a written quotation in 24–48 hours. For chloride service above
60 °C or in acid vapor, ask for the PREN to be reported on the MTC at no charge. Quote validity 30 days; RFQs above 5
tons receive a 30-day price hold. Shipping FOB Shanghai / Ningbo / Lianyungang, CIF to Jebel Ali / Mundra / Singapore /
Rotterdam, or DDP to the buyer's warehouse. ISO 9001 plus four additional certifications; EN 10204 3.1 MTC standard on
every shipment from JILAIDA
Corrosion Resistance You Can See
In salt-laden air, in acid vapor, in pharmaceutical wash-down rooms, the 316 bright stainless steel bar earns its
keep by being both the right chemistry and the right finish. The 2 % Mo addition pushes PREN up by about 6–8 points
versus 304. The bright surface removes the micro-crevices that initiate pitting. We run the bar through bright-drawing or centerless grinding after forging to land at h9 tolerance on
standard sizes.
What a Clean 316 RFQ Looks Like
Inquiry turnaround is faster when the RFQ has the three numbers Ji lai da needs to quote: diameter, length, and
grade variant (316 or 316L). Add surface condition (bright-drawn h9, centerless ground, or as-forged), quantity in
kg or pieces, and destination port — that is enough for the order desk to return a written offer in 24–48 hours. For
welded assemblies, specify 316L up front; it is the same price as standard 316 in our forging sizes. For chloride
service above 60 °C, ask for the PREN on the MTC — included at no charge. Smaller spot orders are filled from
current stock at the price on the day of purchase order.
Where It Gets Specified
Marine hardware and fasteners, pharmaceutical mixing shafts, food-grade conveyor rails, chemical pump shafts in
chloride environments, architectural trim on coastal buildings, medical device components. In each case the 316
bright stainless steel bar is specified because a rougher surface would hold contamination and 304 would pit.

FAQ
Q1: What does "bright" actually mean — is it just polished?
A: Bright bar is produced by cold drawing or centerless grinding after forging, giving a smooth reflective surface
with tight dimensional tolerance. It is more precise than a black or rough-turned bar, and the finish is consistent
end to end.
Q2: 316 vs 316L — which do you supply?
A: Both. If you are welding the bar into an assembly, 316L (low carbon) avoids sensitization at the weld zone. For
non-welded shafts or machined components, standard 316 is fine and slightly stronger. Tell us your application and
we will recommend.
Q3: What tolerance on diameter?
A: Bright-drawn bars typically hold h9 tolerance (h11 is also available). Forged rounds before drawing are wider —
we will confirm the exact tolerance for your specified diameter and finish when quoting.
